Dupont is building a New European Headquarters for Industrial Biosciences in the Leiden. Hans de Nobel will share the story of Dupont Biosciences and the work done on enzyme solutions developed by Dupont Biosciences. 

Sarcoma, often called the forgotten cancer, is rare in adults (1% adult cancers) and relatively prevalent in children (15% childhood cancers). As it is made up of over 50 different subtypes it can be extremely difficult to diagnose and treat. For many sarcoma subtypes therapeutic outcomes have not improved in decades.

My research is dedicated to creating more representative in vitro models of sarcoma and establishing novel methods of analysis for the investigation of rare cancer. Both the models and the analytical methods developed will be used for discovery of effective therapeutic options and biomarkers. More representative models will increase the predictive value of pre-clinical therapeutic testing and ultimately improve the life expectancy of sarcoma patients.
